Citadel lives to fight another day

As the broadcast networks finalize their fall TV schedules, many shows are finding out whether they've been renewed for another season or canceled. CBS's S.W.A.T. and ABC's The Conners will be sticking around (though it was a close one for S.W.A.T.), but it's the end of the road for The CW's The Winchesters and Fox's Call Me Kat, to name a few. Streaming platforms are also getting in on the act, with Netflix ordering more helpings of Ginny & Georgia (finally!) and Virgin River, but pulling the plug on a second season of Lockwood & Co.

Whether you're looking to celebrate more of your favorites or mourn the loss of something on your regular rotation, we're keeping tabs on all the TV shows that were canceled or renewed this month below.

How to With John Wilson, HBO: John Wilson's oddball look at life, New York City, pigeons, and risotto will end after the upcoming third season. (May 25, HBO)

Fantasy Island, Fox: The fantasy is over for the reboot of the classic series, which lasted two seasons on Fox. (May 9, Fox)
Walker: Independence, The CW: The prequel to the Jared Padalecki series Walker was canceled after one season. (May 9, Deadline)
East New York, CBS: The police procedural starring Amanda Warren was sent packing after one season. (May 8, TV Line)
True Lies, CBS: James Cameron's action comedy was adapted for television by Matt Nix, but the romantic-spy-comedy-drama got burned and was canceled after one season. (May 8, TV Line)
Call Me Kat, Fox: Mayim Bialik's comedy was canceled after three seasons due to low ratings. (May 5, Fox)
Yellowstone, Paramount Network: The modern Western juggernaut is coming to an end with its fifth season, which will return in November to air its final batch of episodes. The franchise will then get an untitled sequel series, coming to Paramount Network and Paramount+ in December. (May 5, Variety)

Citadel, Prime Video: The spy thriller starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden has been renewed for Season 2, with Joe Russo set as the upcoming season's sole director. (May 25, Variety)
The Family Stallone, Paramount+: The Sylvester Stallone reality series will return for Season 2. Its first season was a hit, becoming Paramount+'s No. 1 original reality series. (May 24, Paramount+)
The Lazarus Project, TNT: The British time-travelling sci-fi series gets a sophomore season before the first season even airs in America. (May 17, Deadline)
Virgin River, Netflix: Virgin River floats on. The soapy drama's fifth season hasn't already premiered yet (it's set for this fall), but a sixth season is already confirmed. (May 17, Deadline)
Ginny and Georgia, Netflix: The mother-daughter drama is seeing double: It's been renewed for its third and fourth seasons. Degrassi: The Next Generation's Sarah Glinski will take over as showrunner. (May 17, The Hollywood Reporter)
The Bachelor, ABC: True love prevails as the dating series is confirmed for a 28th season. (May 16, ABC)
The Conners, ABC: Congrats to the bank accounts of John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf specifically, as a sixth season of their sitcom has been confirmed. (May 16, ABC)
American Idol, ABC: The reality singing competition will be back for a seventh season on ABC (and a 22nd season overall). (May 16, ABC)
America's Funniest Home Videos, ABC: The Alfonso Ribeiro-hosted series will be back for its 34th season. (May 16, ABC)
Bachelor in Paradise, ABC: Former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants will keep getting a second chance at love with the spin-off set to return for Season 9. (May 16, ABC)
Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, ABC: The star-studded game show will return for a fourth season. (May 16, ABC)
Celebrity Jeopardy!, ABC: The Jeopardy! spin-off will return for a second season. (May 16, ABC)
Not Dead Yet, ABC: Living up to its title, Gina Rodriguez's sitcom has been confirmed for a second season. (May 16, ABC)
Shark Tank, ABC: The sharks will return for Season 15. (May 16, ABC)
Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, Fox: The physical reality competition will return for a sophomore season. (May 15, Fox)
Farmer Wants a Wife, Fox: Good news for eligible bachelorettes who like a good working man! The reality series will be back for a second season. (May 15, Fox)
Outlast, Netflix: After reaching Netflix's Top 10 TV in 27 countries, the survival competition series set in the Alaskan wilderness is returning for a second season. (May 15, Netflix)
Archer, FXX – FINAL SEASON: FX has officially confirmed a 14th season for the animated comedy, while also announcing that the show's next season will be its last. Season 14 will premiere Aug. 30. (May 15, The Hollywood Reporter)
Password, NBC: The Jimmy Fallon game show, hosted by Keke Palmer, has been renewed for Season 2, though production has been delayed due to the writers' strike. (May 12, Deadline)
61st Street, The CW: In a surprise move, Courtney Vance's very serious AMC drama is moving to... The CW for its second season after being canceled by AMC. (May 12, Deadline)
Lopez vs. Lopez, NBC: The George Lopez sitcom has survived and will be back for a second season on NBC. Don't expect it on NBC's schedule until midseason, though. (May 12, NBC)
Next Level Chef, Fox: Gordon Ramsay's multi-level cooking competition has been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4. (May 11, Fox)
Digman!, Comedy Central: Andy Samberg's animated adult comedy series, which Samberg stars in and co-created, has been renewed for a second season. The news was announced on the day of the Season 1 finale. (May 10, Deadline)
Animal Control, Fox: The Joel McHale-led comedy will return for Season 2. According to Fox, the series was the network's most-streamed scripted debut ever. (May 10, Fox)
The Outlaws, Prime Video: The comedic thriller has been renewed for Season 3 at Amazon Prime Video and BBC One. (May 10, Variety)
Walker, The CW: Jared Padalecki's Western will be back for a fourth season. The CW notes that Season 3 was the network's most watched linear series of the season. (May 9, The CW)
S.W.A.T., CBS – FINAL SEASON: In a major reversal, the procedural drama was renewed for a seventh and final season three days after its cancellation was announced. The final season will consist of 13 episodes. "We have listened to our viewers and their outpouring of passion for S.W.A.T.," said Amy Reisenbach, President, CBS Entertainment, and Katherine Pope, President, Sony Pictures Television Studios, in a joint statement, per Deadline. Sweet Tooth, Netflix – FINAL SEASON: The comic book adaptation will return for Season 3, which will be its last. The third season has already filmed. (May 3, Netflix)
FBoy Island, The CW: The reality series, which was previously canceled at Max, is coming back for Season 3 and moving to The CW. It's also getting a spin-off, FGirl Island. (May 2, The CW)
9-1-1, ABC: Yes, you read that right. The first responder drama has been renewed for Season 7... but it will change networks and air on ABC next season after six seasons on Fox. (May 1, ABC)
9-1-1: Lone Star, Fox: The 9-1-1 spin-off was given a fifth season, but unlike its big brother, it's not changing networks and will stay put at Fox. (May 1, Deadline)
Bosch: Legacy, Freevee: The spin-off of Prime Video's Bosch will return for Season 3. Season 2 will premiere this fall. (May 1, Deadline)
The Diplomat, Netflix: Keri Russell's new political drama received one of Netflix's hastiest renewals of the year so far, getting the good news just 10 days after its Season 1 premiere. (May 1, Netflix)
